About Me

Hi, my name is Hong Ngoc that means Ruby in English. I’d like to be called Ngoc, but wouldn’t mind if you call me Ruby. I’m from Vietnam.

I’m working on a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Northern Illinois University, U.S.A., class of 05-09.

Why WittyRuby? My name is too common in Vietnam that I had hard time signing up for email address or blog name. It was always taken. Therefore, I tried to find a more unique nickname. I looked up in a dictionary and found “witty”. Ruby is my English name. Witty means clever, amusing, and humoruous. Initially, I like “witty” because it sounds cute hehe, and goes with” ruby” well, with a positive meaning, so I took it.

Very impressive blog!!! Your English is very good, don’t say that it’s a “barrier.” I’m from Saigon too. It’s nice to know about you.

Thank you. I feel so happy that you like my blog. And I feel quite sad that during last semester, my classes were so heavy, so I was tired to edit my writing and post them. That was the time I started blogging on Yahoo where I could meet my old friends and be careless about serious writing. Have a nice weekend, everybody ^_^.

Hong,
I enjoyed a “virtual visit” with you on your website. It seems to be updated from my visit last year.
I hope everything’s going well for you–keep warm!

  • Taking The “Ifs” Off Cognitive Decline November 29, 2009
The human brain, when properly functioning, is a complex mass of protoplasm capable of staggering mental feats. So what causes eventual memory loss or cognitive decline? The answer is complicated. Some things we know about, others are speculative. A 2009 study appearing in the journal “Neurobiology of Aging” suggests that some aspects of age-related cognitiv […]

  • Anti-Aging Medicine – Hope, Hype Or Hucksters? November 8, 2009
Anti-aging can be a difficult topic to address because it has a number of different common meanings and connotations. Each is championed by a particular group or coalition of interests which define their terms in ways that can make the subject confusing. For the scientific community, anti-aging research refers exclusively to slowing, preventing, or reversing […]

  • Sure You’re getting Older, But Are You Aging Well? October 25, 2009
Someone once said that all human beings, from the earliest age, are on a slow road to death. By that it was meant that we have a limited lifespan which eventually ends, though many young people don’t seem to realize it. Fact is, everything around us has limitations – beginnings and [...]

  • Don’t Take A Vacation From Health October 14, 2009
I just came back from a ten day seminar with a very enlightened view of travelling and health. Let me tell you, when you get 300 people in a conference room and two or three of them have a cold, an interesting phenomenon happens: quite a few in the room will get sick within the [...]
